This role can be based anywhere, but core working hours will be based on Asian markets.
CIG (creteinvestmentgroup.com) is hiring an Execution Trader to focus primarily on supporting discretionary and medium-frequency systematic strategies of the firm’s multiple hedge fund portfolios during Asia daytime hours, approximately 9pm-6am PST. As a member of the Investment team, you will develop, execute, and optimize trading systems and operations that implement proprietary trading strategies in cryptocurrencies, options, and other asset classes at one of the oldest and largest blockchain-focused investment firms. The primary responsibilities of the Execution Trader are:
- Source liquidity and work with portfolio managers to position the firm’s hedge fund portfolios.
- Manage live trading systems including portfolio, order, and execution management platforms servicing intraday and longer frequency trade orders across multiple strategies and multiple portfolios.
- Develop and apply risk management protocols on the firm’s trading strategies across multiple strategic considerations – operational, technical, market, counter-party, and others.
- Collaborate with the investment team to research, test, and implement novel trade execution and smart order routing algorithms.
- Support the quantitative investment team with data to augment alpha generation.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Internship or 2-4 years relevant work experience in sales & trading, investment banking, quantitative research, hedge funds, and prop trading.
- Proficiency with MySQL 5.6+ databases and query language.
- High degree of communication skills and analytical intuition.
- Flexibility to either work independently or collaborate with the investment team.
- Strong multi-tasking ability with high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills when working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Advanced coursework in – applied mathematics, Bayesian optimization, statistics, computer science, and/or financial engineering or computational finance is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python 3 or another scripting language is a plus.
- Proficiency in C++ is a plus.
